Some sure bets are around longer, but that’s more of an exception than a rule. A sports arbitrage opportunity (or just an ‘arb’ or sure bet) doesn’t exist for very long, usually between 1-10 minutes.
Primarily, they were ill-suited to the time-sensitive nature of a sure bet. The tools that existed before 2008 were very difficult to use (and to be honest, often of poor quality).
